Henrique Rodrigues
Henrique Silva Soares Rodrigues was born in 2004 in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel. He began his musical studies at the age of six at Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, in the organ class of Professor Isabel Albergaria.
Throughout his academic and artistic journey, he has participated in several masterclasses, workshops, and organ internships with renowned musicians such as André Ferreira, João Santos, Diogo Pombo, Nuno Almeida, Enrico Viccardi, Francesco Cera, Javier Artigas, Olivier Latry, and Thomas Ospital. In May 2022, he was awarded 1st prize in the Organ – Soloist – Level E category at the 15th edition of the Luiz Peter Clode Competition, held on Madeira Island.
Deeply connected to liturgical music from an early age, he found in it one of the main reasons to dedicate himself to organ studies.
Beyond his conservatory training, he is also involved in several traditional music ensembles. As a bagpiper in Urro das Marés, he has performed at events such as the Feira Quinhentista (Ribeira Grande), the Dias Medievais de Castro Marim (Algarve), and the Fêtes Renaissance du Roi de l’Oiseau (Le Puy-en-Velay, France).
In the 2022/2023 academic year, he completed the 8th Grade of the Secondary Music Course at Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, under the guidance of Professor Mónica Reis.
Since 2023, he has been a member of the Ricercare choir, with which he has collaborated in multiple public performances and recordings, deepening the interpretation of a demanding choral repertoire, covering different styles and historical periods.
He is currently studying Organ at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa under the guidance of Professor João Vaz. During the 2025/26 academic year, he is undertaking an Erasmus mobility period in Leipzig, studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with Professors Daniel Beilschmidt and Thomas Lennartz.
