VIALLE

Church Saint-François-de-Paule-les-Minimes Toulouse

Organ details

History

While the church of Les Minimes dates back to the early 16th century, the organ was built by organ builder Pierre Vialle in 1991. This "timeless" little instrument, with its beautiful Spanish-style case, has a very endearing character. Its corbelled position on the side of the church is reminiscent of the cantorias of southern Europe. It is an instrument that sounds good for the early repertoire of the 16th and early 17th centuries. The organ was inaugurated by Yasuko Bouvard on Sunday 14 April 1991. Jean Daldosso overhauled the organ in 2004. The aim was to restore the organ to a satisfactory mechanical state, and to give it a more assertive polyphonic character. Work was carried out on the composition (bass and treble cuts in the Montre 8', Prestant 4' and trumpet stops), the arrangement of the mixtures, voicing, and tuning with the introduction of a pure mesotonic temperament.
