David Boos

David Boos

David Boos studied organ at the University of Music in Vienna, as well as at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. The teachers who formed him most were Pier Damiano Peretti and Pieter van Dijk. Like most musicians of his generation, he played concerts throughout Europe and the USA. He also won prizes at international competitions (incl. Alkmaar 2009).

Subsequently David decided to do other things in life as well. He was Label Manager of the classical and jazz music label Odradek Records and worked several years as a video producer of music videos and documentaries, including a 2016 documentary about one of the oldest playable organs, the instrument of gothic origin in Ostönnen, Germany.

After moving to Tangermünde, David became the artistic director of the Telemann-Centre in Magdeburg for a couple of years, before switching back to a steady diet of different freelance activities, such as being an organist, essayist and filmmaker. In summer 2023 David took over an antique bookstore in Tangermünde and from 2024 onwards he will be Tangermünde’s co-artistic director at ECHO.
