History
The first item about the exhistance in the Dome of an organ by “Mastro Lorenzo dai Organi” is dated 1364. This instrument was completely renovated in 1436 by Borother Nicolao de Alemanna ordinis predicatorum. A new organ was built by Antonio Delimanj o Dilmanj from Venice in 1483.
In 1773 was opened the organ by Callido, the third of twelve instruments that the famous organ builder placed in our city. The organ by Callido was reformed by the firm Locatelli from Bergamo in 1876 and in 1915, when it was susbstituted by the organ by the firm Tamburini from Crema. Afterwards it has been moved to San Cipriano di Roncade and enclosed into a modern industrial instrument.
The organ built in 2000, the Jubilee year, by Kuhn’s and Hradetzky’s organ companies, “with a soundboard inclined towards the European moderate romantic concept” (as can be seen from the instrument’s presentation booklet), was installed on the Chapel’s floor on the left of the church. The front is divided into five spans with the pipes arranged in a cusp. Window console; the stops’ controls are arranged in three columns at the sides of the console.
Three manuals with 58 keys (Do1-La5). Pedalboard, 30 keys (Do1-Fa3) slightly concave. Mechanic action. Equal temperament.
