The programme brings together texts and music in a meaningful way, combining Gregorian chant, organ music, and music for solo double bass. Sensitive texts will resonate through the selected musical works and lead into the timeless call for peace.

In addition to a welcome speech by Altenburg’s Mayor André Neumann, the young theologian Anne Herzig will read texts. Vincent Peterseim, solo double bassist of the Altenburg Gera Philharmonic Orchestra, will also perform, together with the two ECHO Young Ambassadors Kilian Homburg and Theresa Heidler on the Trost organ. Meditative chants by Schola lipsiensis, conducted by the award-winning Leipzig organist and church musician Jonas Schauer, complete the programme.
